Born on January 31 (February 12), 1900 in the village of Serebryanyye Prudy, now the Moscow Region, in a peasant family. Russian.
Since April 1918 in the Red Army, a cadet of the first Moscow military instructor courses of the Red Army in Moscow, participated in the suppression of the rebellion of the Left Social Revolutionaries in Moscow in July 1918. Scout of the 756th Infantry Regiment of the 150th Infantry Division of the 3rd Shock Army of the 1st Belorussian Front. According to the official Soviet version, together with Lieutenant A.P.
